My Post-Mexico Post

Sorry for not posting in a while, I was spending a fabulous time with my family in Mexico! I know my thousands of followers were dying for some prettyinjeans pictures but I honestly stayed off my phone for most of the trip and it was amazing! I also planned to dress super cute everyday and do all these great photo shoots by the beach, but ended up most nights wearing my hair in a bun on top of my head and dressing in a t-shirt and jean shorts. 

BUT I'm back and sporting Indiana-in-Spring clothes again - this is such a classic and easy outfit that will never go out of style. My t-shirt and cardigan are both from Loft and jeans are from Madewell. Booties are super old and from Old Navy.

Classic Preppy

This is totally my go outfit! Jeans with a tee and a popped collar denim jacket. This jacket and jeans are my two absolute favorites, have both in multiple colors. I love how simple and cute this combo is -- what is your classic preppy look?

The Utility Vest

Picture Day

Today was picture day at work! I am so thankful to work at place that allows me to wear what I want, but anytime we have to "dress up' this is my go to semi professional blazer. I got this a few years ago at Anthropologie and get so many compliments every time I wear it. I love the brand, Cartonnier - check them out on the Anthropologie website, they have the cutest stuff!

Cropped Denim

Cropped jeans are the it thing in denim right now so I had to try a pair. I didn't think that I would love them but I totally do. They will be so cute for spring with booties and sandals through the summer! Love this comfy high waisted version from Madewell. (If you haven't tried Madewell jeans PLEASE go now, they are my favorite brand!)

Wonderland Top + OTK

Happy Friday! Today's look includes a top I found at Urban Outfitters. It is a total basic item that I'll wear all the time. Basics are my favorite because I don't feel guilty spending money on them.  I'm totally justifying but I don't care, it makes me feel better! I also have on my fav jeggings from Gap and the famous OTK (Over the Knee) boots. I did not make up OTK -- it's a thing all the fashionisistas use so I'm trying to be like them. And since it's still a little cool outside, my tan leather bomber-esque jacket. This jacket I've had for about 3 or 4 years, it was an amazing gift from my love, Todd! (Kudos to you babe!) The brand is Hinge and I can't find this style anywhere but if you're in the market for a good jacket that will last a long time, check this brand out. They sell it at Nordstrom -- along with a ton of other adorable items!

ALL TIME Favorite Sweater

I'm a total sucker for baggy, over-sized sweaters. This is one I got from Free People like four years ago and it is still one my favorites. It's so cuddle-ish and perfect and I love it just thrown over a tee and jeans.

Poncho

I wore this poncho over the weekend and wanted to share the details  because I love it so much! It's super stylish and so comfortable. It was a gift from my forever bestie Liz. How To Eat Mexican in Indianapolis When Your Friends Don't Want To

I am obsessed with Mexican food!! Like for real obsessed. I could eat it for every meal, every day. Most of the time my friends and family, (esp my boyfriend) do not want Mexican every time we go out. Weird I know.

SO I'm sharing my favorite places to get Mexican food around downtown Indy that are not Mexican restaurants. That way Mexican lovers like me can still get their fix and your dinning partner can too! My go-to's are always nachos and sometimes quesadillas, but mostly nachos and tacos.

What are your non-Mexican restaurant favorites?

Bru Burger: BBQ Nachos with Chicken. These are my absolute favorite! They are covered in white queso and so much delicious-ness!

Chatham Tap: Nachos with Chicken. These are sooooo good! They come with a homemade guacamole/hummus mix that gives the nachos a unique and tasty twist!

Lockerbie Pub: Quesadilla with Chicken. This may look like your everyday quesadilla but it super good, esp for the price! ($6 bucks including chips and salsa)

The Tap: Firecracker Shrimp Tacos. Loved these! Their homemade salsa is so good too. They have quite a variety of tacos and I want to try them all! (A lot of fish taco options.)

Chilly Water Brewing Company: Chicken Quesadilla. (I started eating this before I remembered to take a picture :( I was hungry!) OMG this is so one of my favorite quesadillas. It was so full of flavor and their salsa is really good! Highly recommend it paired with their beers! 

SUPER Bells

This outfit is so me! You all know I love being causal – so this long tee under a vintage-esque cropped sweater and bell bottoms. I mean come on, does it get better than this??? I love using staple items from my wardrobe and putting a unique twist on them. What staple items do you love playing with?

Furry Sweater

A long furry sweater is such a staple piece. It is great with jeans or leggings and can easily transition into spring, summer and fall  -- pair it with shorts or a skirt when it gets warmer. I love how soft and cozy this one is and in a cool color!

This book is a great and easy read! It is a unique love story that will make you root for the characters. I cried multiple times. The movie is coming out soon so read it asap!! You'll enjoy it! Anyone else enjoy it as much as I did?

Favorite Flannel & Favorite Booties

I am obsessed with this flannel -- super comfy and flattering. Also these are my favorite short boots of the season. They are honestly the most comfortable boots! I can wear them around all day long. Happy Wednesday! My favorite outfits are causal with a unique twist. I found this shirt for $24 and it will be a great top for spring too. I love how causal yet put together it is. The jeans are a staple in my wardrobe -- you can never go wrong with jeggings, TRUST ME.
